Role Overview
The Vice President, Customer & Commercial will serve as a strategic partner to the President and Executive Team, overseeing all customer/client relationships, pricing, and commercial applications across a multi-location, co-packing operation with multiple brand and packaging elements within a sophisticated supply chain network. This executive is responsible for leading all revenue-generating customer engagements and driving profitable growth through the development and expansion of client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive meaningful levels of profitable revenue through the development and expansion of client relationships
- Leverage network and relationships with industry stakeholders and thought leaders to support sales
- Understand the terms of client relationships and architect ways to drive growth and improve profitability over time
- Lead client negotiations of contracts and service agreements
- Support company strategy with analysis and executive presentations, including management of client staffing plans
- Lead pricing discussions and best practices
- Ensure consistent contract compliance across client leads and markets
- Develop, maintain, and distribute ad-hoc reports and financial models as needed
- Provide proactive analytical support and other ad hoc financial analyses to business leaders
- Track and review client profitability and major revenue forecasts (budget and forecasts)
- Own management of pipeline opportunities
- Develop talent through recruiting, coaching, and training
- Study long-range economic trends and project their impact on future sales and market share
- Identify opportunities for expansion into new product areas
- Follow all safety procedures and promote a safe work environment at all times
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field
- Minimum of 10 years in commercially focused customer and revenue growth management roles
- Proven track record in marketing and developing business with new and existing clients
- Exceptional client relationship, team, and project management abilities
- Superior relationship-building skills, establishing credibility and trust within the firm and across the market
- Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills (written and oral)
- Superior organizational abilities, strong attention to detail, and advanced project management/customer service skills
- Experience in budgeting/forecasting and identifying financial risks in commercial arrangements
- Ability to multi-task responsibilities with tight deadlines
- Experience building, nurturing, and sustaining strong client relationships across multiple procurement and finance touchpoints
- Experience attending senior client meetings and providing reporting and analysis support
- Experience partnering with legal teams to ensure contracts accurately reflect commercial relationships and minimize risk
- Ability to maintain high ethical standards, confidentiality, discretion, and exemplary judgment
Compensation
- Salary range: $250,000 – $260,000, depending on experience
- Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurance
- 401(k) plan
Location
- Indianapolis, Indiana (Relocation package available if necessary)
- 50% travel required
